Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas has named the All Progressives Congress (APC) Deputy National Women Leader, Zainab Ibrahim, as his running mate for the 2027 governorship election, replacing Deputy Governor Aminu Alkali.
Announcing the decision yesterday, Kefas described Ibrahim as a committed party stalwart whose background in grassroots mobilisation and national politics would reinforce his administration’s objectives for the state.
He said: “She is a loyal party woman, a bridgebuilder and a tireless voice for the vulnerable. Our campaign will be built on continuity, security and prosperity, and I am confident that her experience and commitment will complement our development agenda.”
Political analysts and party sources believe Ibrahim’s nomination is a strategic move aimed at promoting political balance across Taraba while broadening the party’s appeal among critical voting blocs.
