The Village Boys Movement (VBM) has called on the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to grant its presidential ticket to Peter Obi, as supporters staged a nationwide “2 Million Man March and ADC Registration Drive” on Saturday, Njenje Media News reports.

The march took place across Abia, Adamawa, Anambra, Ebonyi, Plateau, Jigawa, Kaduna, Ondo, Ogun, Oyo, Kogi, and Edo states, and was described by participants as a strong expression of grassroots support and democratic demand.

The Village Headmaster of the movement, Maazi Tochukwu Ezeoke, in a statement, noted that the march was not only a public show of support for Obi but also an opportunity to actively register Nigerians into the ADC, as part of efforts to build a formidable and structured political base nationwide.

The group explained that the phased rollout of the mobilisation was deliberate, noting that it would help sustain momentum, enhance coordination, and ensure continuous engagement across the country in the coming weeks.

According to the movement, the initiative is not a one-off event but part of a broader plan to convert widespread public support into an organised and verifiable political force.

VBM maintained that the demand for credible leadership in Nigeria has become increasingly urgent, adding that citizens are now more mobilised and determined to shape the country’s democratic future.

It also referenced positions within major political stakeholders, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC), the Labour Party, and the Southern and Middle Belt Leaders Forum, noting that calls for a Southern presidency continue to gain traction.

The movement said it believes the ADC must act decisively and in alignment with the will of the people by granting Obi the presidential ticket without delay.

VBM further stated that it remains committed to mobilising millions of Nigerians across villages, towns, and cities to ensure what it described as a decisive political shift in 2027, insisting that the era of recycled governance must come to an end.

It added that the march marks the beginning of a coordinated national awakening.
