Spain’s head coach, Luis Enrique has picked Argentina as the country he wants to win the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar if his team fails to do so, Njenje Media News reports.

According to Enrique, it would be unfair if Argentina captain, Lionel Messi retired from international football without winning the World Cup.

The latest edition of the FIFA World Cup will commence on Sunday.

The host nation Qatar will lock horns with Ecuador at the Al Bayt Stadium.

Spain are in Group E alongside Costa Rica, Japan and Germany.

“If we don’t win [the World Cup], I would like Argentina to,” Enrique said on Twitch.

“It would be unfair for a player like Leo Messi to retire without winning one.”
