Sonorious singer and ‘Duduke’ croner, Simi who was under fire recently after some music fans felt she was throwing a shade to Davido as his musical rivals, Burna Boy and Wizkid last night won their first grammy award has clarified her position on the matter, Njenje Media News reports.
Simi had in a now deleted tweet while congratulating Wizkid and Burna Boy tweeted:
“Starboy and Burna, E Choke!”
This didn’t go down well with some fans as some thought the slang synonymous to Davido’s tantrums was a shade to the ‘Jowo’ croner.
A music lover, while replying her tweet opined:
“Simi ending that tweet with e choke doesn’t really make sense sha. E be like shade.”
In her response, the mother of one said he has no intention whatsoever to mock Davido, adding that she wants evryone to win.
She wrote: “I love Davido and I love Wiz. I was celebrating the winners and used the slang just as a SLANG. A friend said to remove it because fans thought it was shade and so I did. It didn’t even occur to me at all. What would be the point of me shading either of them? To what end?
“Damn. I’m just trying to finish Modern Family. Leave me alone, I get it. You love your people and want to defend them.
“I want everyone to win. I always say that. I always show that. Abeg Relax.”
