Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi reaffirmed his commitment to healthcare and education during a visit to Tansian University of Nursing in Oba, Anambra State, where he donated ₦10 million to support the institution.
Speaking on his vision for national development, Obi stressed the importance of prioritizing key sectors. “Our nation’s development priorities must be anchored on measurable indices—healthcare, education, and poverty alleviation,” he stated.
He further emphasized that funding these areas should not be seen as mere spending but as a crucial step toward progress. “Investing in these sectors is not merely an expenditure but a vital investment in our nation’s future,” he added.
Obi described his interaction with the students as “enlightening” and praised the university’s role in training qualified healthcare professionals. He reiterated his dedication to supporting institutions that contribute to national growth, saying, “I remain committed to supporting institutions like the Tansian University of Nursing, which play a crucial role in building a healthier, more educated society and lifting people out of poverty.”
