Valentine Ozigbo, a prominent leader of the ObiDient movement and a hopeful candidate for the Anambra Governorship in 2025, has wrapped up a highly impactful 14-city tour across Europe, leaving a lasting message of unity and inspiration. This two-week journey was part of a larger global initiative that spans 31 cities worldwide, culminating in significant events in Manchester and London, United Kingdom.
During his time in the UK, Ozigbo was honoured as a “Beacon of Hope” by the Igbo Ambassadors United Kingdom, recognizing his dedication to community-driven development and his efforts to foster collaboration among the diaspora.
A Journey Across Europe
Ozigbo’s tour last week included visits to 14 cities, starting with Paris, Nuremberg, Prague, Amsterdam, and Vienna, followed by successful outings in Gothenburg, Malmo, Copenhagen, Athens, and Warsaw. Altogether, the European leg covered 14 cities, adding to the 28 cities reached globally when combined with his North American engagements.
Speaking about the tour, Ozigbo said, “Onye njem ka onye isi awo mara ihe—traveling truly broadens one’s perspective.” He described the experience as an extraordinary opportunity to engage the Igbo diaspora, advocating for collective action toward Anambra State’s growth and development.
Highlights from Manchester
In Manchester, the gathering celebrated the community’s spirit and brought together leaders from the North West of England, including Liverpool, Yorkshire, and Preston. Hosted by Dr. Quincy Izu Chuka, Nwachinemelu na Amawbia, and his family, the event underscored the importance of unity.
Notable contributors such as Mr Nedum Obi, Mrs Chinwe Ibisi, and Dr Emeka Modeme-Chinyelueze were acknowledged for their significant roles. The Chuck Art Gallery, graciously provided by Mr. Chuck, offered a cultural backdrop that enriched the event.
London: The Grand Finale
The final event in London at Jubilee House drew the tour’s largest crowd, with substantial participation from women leaders and prominent members of the diaspora. Key attendees included Chief Valentine Echezona (Ozo Nwakibeya), Dr. Azuka Benson (Obata Ife Adi), and Ambassador Ugo Morah, Barrister Kenneth Udeoka.
The London gathering echoed Ozigbo’s message of unity and the diaspora’s critical role in driving Anambra’s development. He thanked logistics coordinator Chief Teddy Ezeike, and Dr. Israel Nonyerem Davidson, who traveled over 10 hours to attend. Press coverage by Maazi Tochukwu Ezeoke (Njenje Media) and Dr. Chido Ajuorah helped amplify the tour’s message.
A Vision for Anambra’s Future
Ozigbo called on the diaspora to rally behind his transformative framework, Ka Anambra Chawapu, aimed at fostering a vibrant, secure, and peaceful Anambra State. He emphasized that collective action by the diaspora can mirror the economic and cultural successes of advanced nations.
“Let us unite and do our part to build a better Anambra State,” Ozigbo urged, underscoring his commitment to sustainable progress.
Igbo Ambassador UK’s end-of-year celebration
Before returning to Nigeria, Ozigbo attended key engagements, including the Igbo Ambassador UK’s end-of-year celebration, the South East Economic Blueprint launch, and events by the Amesi Community and the Anambra State Union in London.
Ozigbo expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the tour’s success and urged continued collaboration for Anambra’s growth. “To God be the glory.
Ka Anambra Chawapu!” he concluded.
