Political commentator Serah Ibrahim has stirred controversy online following viral claims linked to the mobilisation of supporters during the 2023 presidential election court proceedings involving Peter Obi and the Labour Party.
The controversy erupted after screenshots and posts circulating on social media alleged that individuals were mobilised and financially supported to participate in demonstrations connected to the election petition hearings and public pressure campaigns surrounding the case.
The claims have generated heated reactions across Nigerian social media, with supporters and critics of Obi debating the authenticity and implications of the alleged remarks. While some users accused Labour Party supporters of attempting to intimidate judicial officials during the legal battle, others argued that the claims were exaggerated or taken out of context.
Neither Obi nor the Labour Party has officially responded to the latest controversy at the time of filing this report.
The 2023 presidential election petitions drew intense nationwide attention, particularly at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal and later at the Supreme Court, where supporters of various political parties regularly gathered during proceedings.
The resurfaced allegations have once again revived conversations about political activism, online mobilisation and the conduct of supporters during Nigeria’s post election legal disputes.
Despite the online uproar, no court ruling or official investigation has directly linked Obi or Labour Party leaders to any act of harassment or intimidation against judicial officials.
