Omoyele Sowore, the African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections, has described Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), as a “packaged fraud” over alleged moves to secure the position of Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) if African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate Atiku Abubakar wins the election.
Sowore alleged that Obi was secretly directing his supporters to work for Atiku because of the former vice president’s limited support in southern Nigeria. He argued that Atiku’s lack of support in the region could threaten his chances of securing the constitutionally required 25 per cent of votes in at least 24 states.
Following the allegation, attention has turned to Obi and whether he will respond to Sowore’s claims.
In a post, Sowore wrote: “If you haven’t noticed, the packaged fraud, Mr. Peter Obi is secretly directing his supporters to work for @Atiku Abubakar because they are opposed to our revolutionary mandate. Obi is positioning himself to become Atiku’s SGF.”
