U-20 AFCON: Flying Eagles thrash academy side in friendly

The Flying Eagles thrashed Paul E-Sports Academy 5-0 in a friendly game at the Goal Project Football Pitch on Thursday, Njenje Media News reports.

Emmanuel Justine opened the scoring for the Flying Eagles 10 minutes into the game, while Ekpeyong Emmanuel doubled the lead eight minutes before the break.

Energetic striker Obiakor Ifesinachi made it 3-0 in the 65th minute with an assist by Abdulrahman Adam, before the substitute got his brace in the 71st minute.

Gbadamosi Umar added the fifth goal 10 minutes from time.

Ladan Bosso’s side started preparations ahead of the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Abuja on Monday.

The U-20 AFCON will be staged in Egypt from February 18 to March 12, 2023.

The top four teams in the competition will represent Africa at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Indonesia.
