Tensions boiled over at the ongoing Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) primaries on Friday when Nollywood veteran and House of Representatives aspirant Emeka Ike, accompanied by supporter Trageel, stormed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Area 10, Abuja, raising serious allegations of impropriety. In a heated confrontation captured on video and now circulating widely on social media, Ike expressed deep distrust toward INEC after spotting a vehicle allegedly carrying NDC officials parked on the premises. He shouted:“We just came to INEC at Area 10 and we saw a vehicle carrying some NDC officials in the corner. INEC, we have never trusted you and these people were found at your premises. What were NDC officials doing at your premises? I have evidence of those people, sue me to court. You’re a fool!”The outburst occurred amid the NDC’s nationwide primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections. Ike is vying for the party’s ticket to represent the Abuja Municipal/Bwari (AMAC/Bwari) Federal Constituency.INEC staff reportedly clarified that the NDC officials were at the office for Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) activities, not related to the conduct of party primaries, which are internal party affairs. The dramatic scene has sparked divided reactions, with some hailing Ike’s boldness in challenging perceived irregularities and others dismissing it as a misunderstanding or internal party maneuvering. The episode highlights the high-stakes tensions surrounding the NDC’s preparations for the 2027 polls. No immediate official response from INEC or the NDC national leadership has been reported as the situation continues to unfold.
