Wike: I warned you - Eze tells Atiku, PDP after court judgement

Erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party, nPDP, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze has blamed Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for failing to expel former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike from the party before the election.

Eze said it is obvious that the PDP failed to listen to his counsel, thereby allowing the former Governor to have his way to the detriment of the party.

According to the APC chieftain, the judgement of the Federal High Court which reaffirmed that the Party has the powers to discipline erring members in line with the provisions of extant laws, confirmed the validity of his counsel when, prior to the elections, he asked the PDP to quickly and without hesitation, expel Wike.

He noted that as of then, Wike had perfected plans to manipulate the elections in favour of his selfish agenda against the flag-bearer of his own party.

Recall that delivering judgement last week, in a suit filed on February 2, by Wike through his Lawyer, Joshua Musa SAN, Justice James Omotosho made it clear, having considered the processes filed by parties and the arguments of counsel, that the party had the right to suspend or expel its members.

He, however, maintained that such action must be taken in compliance with the party’s own laws. This was after the former Governor, before the 2023 general elections, sought a court order to stop the PDP from taking action against him without a fair hearing,

But Eze, an ally to the former Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, said he has worked closely with both Atiku and Wike to predict the actions and intentions of the duo.

He said that after Wike failed to clinch the PDP Presidential ticket he(Eze] did a memo to Atiku, warning him to keep the then Rivers Governor at bay and go for then Delta Governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate.

After Atiku announced Okowa as a running mate and Wike started displaying his pettiness which clearly portended grave danger to the party, Eze said he freely offered counsel to Atiku and the leadership of the PDP to quickly slam him with a suspension or better still expel him to save the party the bitter embarrassment he was wont to cause, “but stakeholders didn’t act on the advice as they thought Wike would somehow along the line show a sense of genuine repentance through dialogue,” Eze said.

Eze said “All the actions of Wike together with his misguided group are before the public domain and had PDP adhered to his patriotic counsel and showed the jobber the way out, their party would not be in its present state.

“With the court judgment in its favour, the PDP is still within time to show the likes of Wike the way out and embark on a rebuilding project to recover her losses.”

Eze said his position stems from the fact that the country needs a very vibrant and coordinated opposition political party to critically monitor the policies of the government and serve as a watchdog for the interest of Nigerians.

He said it was not surprising to see Wike allegedly turning himself into an errand boy in Aso Rock; allegedly disturbing the tranquillity of the environment and nosing around officials of the APC government to get considered while still deceiving himself as to still being a member of PDP.
