The Kano State Police Command has deployed 554 new police constables to all the Police Divisional Offices in the state and departments for General Duty Officers and Specialists respectively.
This is in line with the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, directives.
This is contained in a statement released by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna, a copy of which was made available to PUNCH Online on Monday.
He said, “During an address at the Command’s Headquarters in Bompai Kano, the State Commissioner of Police, Salman Dogo Garba, congratulated the newly passed out constables on their successful training. He emphasised the importance of discipline, hard work, and integrity in their professional conduct.

“You are expected to be good ambassadors of the Nigeria Police Force, upholding the highest standards of professionalism and respect for human rights. You must adhere to the provisions of the Police Act, 2020, and work in accordance with the rule of law,” Haruna quoted the commissioner as saying.
The CP warned the constables that their role is to serve and protect their communities, maintaining a high level of discipline and professionalism in their interactions with the public.
He advised them to plan for their future, including their retirement, as they begin their assignments.
“The deployment of the newly passed out Police Constables is part of the IGP’s vision to enhance community security and promote robust community policing in maintaining law and order across the country”, Haruna added.
