Women in Plateau protest attack on communities, burn down traditional ruler’s house
Some women who were protesting the recent Boko Haram attack in the communities of Bokkos Local Government Area of the Plateau State have burnt down the house of the district head of the town, Michael Adanchi.
Reports say over 100 persons were attacked and killed in 17 villages in the Barkin Ladi, Mangu, and Bokkos Local Government Areas of the state on Christmas Eve.

The attacks also displaced over 10,000 persons, many of whom were presently taking refuge in churches, mosques, schools, and private residences.
According to accounts, women burned down the house after certain members of the community were arrested for apparent involvement in recent deaths in the area, and the traditional ruler’s mansion and administrative office were also destroyed.
Insurgents have promised to launch more attacks on a Plateau State community on December 29, 2023, only four days after killing 195 people in 17 communities throughout the state.
