Obey The Electoral Laws: An Open Letter To Sen Seriake Dickson, By SKC Ogbonnia

The National Leader,

National Democratic Coalition (NDC), Abuja Nigeria.

Dear Sir,

RE: URGENT: RESOLUTION OF ENUGU WEST SENATORIAL PRIMARIES AND COMPLIANCE WITH THE ELECTORAL ACT 2026.

Please permit me to re-introduce myself. I am Dr. SKC Ogbonnia, a senatorial aspirant from Enugu West. More importantly, I am a lifelong advocate of electoral integrity and someone who speaks truth to power.

I watched your appearance on Arise TV yesterday June 10, 2026. You rightly stated that the party has not yet produced official candidates. This is a critical reality, particularly in Enugu State. Neither a valid primary election nor a legal consensus process has taken place for the Enugu West Senatorial District.

Yes, a primary was previously scheduled. My supporters turned out en masse. This overwhelming turnout proved my standing as the leading aspirant in every measure of social, economic, political, and intellectual capacity. My viability has been explicitly acknowledged by key stakeholders, including State Party Leader Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo and Senatorial Zonal Leader Prof. Udenta Udenta. By now, a formal consensus should have been finalized to produce me as the nominee of the party.

As an advocate for the rule of law, I insist on total compliance with the Electoral Act 2026, regardless of who becomes the nominee. Section 84 of the Act strictly mandates that candidates must emerge through valid democratically conducted primaries or a consensus validated by signed written agreements from all aspirants.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) deadline for the submission of candidates is fast approaching. Any attempt to submit a name to INEC—including my own—without strict adherence to due process will invalidate the nomination.

I have forwarded multiple petitions regarding this matter to the party, which have gone unanswered.

Proceeding without a legally sound process will provoke an unimaginable electoral crisis. It will also expose the party to devastating litigation and disqualification by the opposition.

I urge you to intervene immediately to rectify this situation through due process before the INEC window closes.

Yours faithfully,

Dr. SKC Ogbonnia

Enugu West Senatorial Aspirant
