Former Kano State Governor and Vice Presidential Candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has said he received a delegation of Igbo elders who paid him a solidarity visit at his residence in Abuja.
Kwankwaso described the visit as meaningful, noting that the delegation was led by Dr S. N. Okeke, Chairman of the Ohanaeze Council of Elders for the 19 States and the Federal Capital Territory, alongside former Enugu State Governor, Okwesilieze Nwodo. He also mentioned Dr S. N. Okeke, a member of the delegation, as part of the leadership present.
In a statement, Kwankwaso said, “I was deeply honoured to host a high-powered solidarity visit from the Igbo Elders Consultative Forum at my residence in Abuja.”
He added that the elders expressed appreciation for what they described as a growing working relationship between him and former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, under the Nigeria Democratic Congress. According to him, the delegation “pledged their unwavering support for the Obi Kwankwaso ticket and assured the movement of massive electoral backing across the South East and the wider Southern region.”
Kwankwaso further said he used the occasion to reflect on national political relations across regions and to acknowledge what he described as a productive partnership with Obi. He stated, “In my response, I thanked the delegation for their visit and for the opportunity to exchange views on the state of the nation.”

He also reaffirmed his political commitment ahead of the elections, saying, “I also reaffirmed my total commitment to the OK Movement and the National Democratic Congress, emphasising our resolute determination to deliver victory for the party in the upcoming elections.”
