LEADERSHIP OF OHANEZE NDIGBO WORLDWIDE: (January 10th, 2025 – January 10th, 2029.)

CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS: (65% of Objective Criteria and 35% of Subjective Criteria.)

PREAMBLE
As we set the process in motion to ensure that we conduct the elections for the next set of leaders for Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, we have incumbent responsibility to ensure that we do whatever is humanly possible to usher in the best available.
The quality of such leadership will be contingent on the integrity of the electoral officers and the credibility of the electoral process.
To ensure the selection of capable and effective leadership, apart from educational qualifications and career progression, the following critical success factors have been identified:

1. Cultural Competence:

1a . *Understanding of Igbo Culture and Traditions*: The leadership should have a deep understanding of Igbo culture, customs, and traditions. This will rekindle HOPE IN THE FIRMAMENT.

2. *Respect for Cultural Heritage*: The leadership should demonstrate respect for Igbo cultural heritage and a commitment to preserving it.

3. *Knowledge of Igbo History*: The leadership should have a good understanding of Igbo history, including the challenges, struggles, and achievements of the Igbo people. And thereby ensuring the reinvention of the LAND OF PROMISE.

2. Leadership Skills:

1. *Strong Communication Skills*: The leadership should possess excellent communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders, including community members, elders, youths, women, and external partners.

2. *Visionary Thinking*: The leadership should have a clear vision for the OHANEZE NDIGBO WORLDWIDE and be able to inspire and motivate NDIGBO to work towards achieving that vision.

3. *Strategic Planning*: The leadership should be able to develop and implement strategic plans to achieve OHANEZE’s goals and objectives. These include but not limited to: Promoting economic empowerment and development; addressing security concerns, youth engagement, Gender equality and social justice issues, conflict resolution, and promoting sense of belonging and shared identity.

4. *Collaborative Leadership*: The leadership should be able to build and lead high-performing teams, foster collaboration of the Town Unions, and market associations, and empower others including Youths and Women organizations to achieve their best.

*3. Community Engagement*
1. *Strong Community Connections*: The leadership should have strong connections with Igbo (local and Diaspora) Communities, including elders, leaders, town unions, age grades, youths, women and other stakeholders.

2. *Ability to Build Partnerships*: The leadership should be able to build bridges and partnerships with other organizations, local and Diaspora communities, and other critical stakeholders to advance the goals of the OHANEZE NDIGBO WORLDWIDE.

3. *Commitment to Community Development*: The leadership should demonstrate a commitment to community development and be willing to work collaboratively with others to achieve these goals/objectives.

4. *Empowerment of Marginalized Groups*: The leadership should be committed to empowering marginalized groups within the Igbo community, including women, youth, and people with disabilities.

4. Integrity and Accountability:

1. *Strong Moral Character*: The leadership should possess strong moral character and be guided by a clear sense of ethics and integrity. Must have no criminal records or moral burden.

2. *Transparency and Accountability*: The leadership should be transparent in their decision-making and actions and be accountable to the OHANEZE NDIGBO WORLDWIDE and other stakeholders.

3. *Financial Management*: The leadership should demonstrate sound financial management skills, knowledge, and know-how, ensuring the effective use of resources and transparency in financial reporting.

5. Adaptability and Resilience.

1. *Ability to Adapt to Change*: The leadership should be able to adapt to changing circumstances, including shifts in community needs, funding opportunities, and other external factors.

2. *Resilience in the Face of Challenges*: The leadership should be able to navigate challenges, manage adversities/ambiguities; and maintain commitment to the OHANEZE’S mission and goals

3. *Innovative Thinking*: The leadership should be able to think innovatively, ever conscious of the sensitivities and sensibilities of others, as well as discover new opportunities and solutions to address the needs of the Igbo nation.

CONCLUSION.
By considering these critical success factors, Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide can ensure the selection of a leadership which possesses the necessary skills, knowledge, know-how, and personal qualities including emotional intelligence, empathy and creativity to effectively lead OHANEZE NDIGBO WORLDWIDE and promote the interests of the Igbo people from 10th January, 2025.
